HCL Nomad Web 1.0.5 beta 2 is here and has a goodie

HCL dropped a new in-between beta version of Nomad Web 1.0.5. This also is usable for Domino from 12.0.1FP1 or higher (the latest 12.0.2 EAP4 for example).

The HCL community is crazy. Ales Lichtenberg was the first outside HCL who tweeted about it. I instantly downloaded it and wanted to let it sit for some days before I test it - what could be so fancy new in this version, uhm?

Daniel Nashed then mentioned in the HCL Ambassador Slack channel that he also already added this option to the HCL Docker build script - this guy never sleeps it seems...

Today I found some time to play around with it. Except from some chaos in my images I got it working in a 12.0.1FP1 image along with Domino Volt on top.

The goodie in version 1.0.5 beta 2 is the Domino Restyler (though I am not sure if this will be the official name). This function is able to modernize your legacy apps with just some clicks. This is by far not perfect, yet, but in general it works.

Cormac McCarthy blogged about this morning about it - this guy also is either an early bird or also doesn't sleep ;-)

My personal problem was: I didn't see this new feature. Usually you find this function when you open a database in Nomad and navigate to File/Application/Restyle. I didn't have this option. You need at least the Designer right to do that, of course - which I had.

The reason was explained in the EAP forum though: it's currently only available in English locale and I used the German locale here.

After switching to English as my browser's content language, I was able to test it. Smile
